Endelevu SolarSmart Schools

The objective is to build multifunctional sustainable schools, offering both education to the learners and to the community.

The vision is that of schools that not only offer education to the learners, but also to the entire community, promoting sustainable solutions for local development, a Community Academy, where parents will also learn tools for the betterment of family livelihoods. The Endelevu SolarSmart building solution was invented by the CEO of Ergon Solair as an evolution from solar integrated construction to solar as a structural component of a smart building and driver of community benefit activities.

The schools (single or double storey) will be built with Advanced Building System that reduce consumption of resources (water and energy) in respect to standard technologies thereby increasing sustainability, further enhanced by solar integration, advanced energy efficient cooking, water saving faucets and toilets, as well as use of reflective paints to reduce heat absorption. The building technology by its nature is energy efficient and the solar panels being distanced from the roof, by way of chimney effect and shading, have a cooling effect on the buildings offering comfortable ambient temperatures.

The Energy generated by the Endelevu SolarSmartSchools, aside from powering the needs within the schoolhouse (lights, computers, etc.) can also offer community empowerment, acting as the central generator of a community energy system (micro grid), as well as proposing an example of practical solutions that can be adopted by community members.

All building design will be Edge compliant.

The schools can generate excess energy to be used to power e-mobility, for the school itself (e-school buses) as well as local transport, teaching solutions that can be replicated by local business. The schools can generate excess energy to be used to power local clinics, increasing quality healthcare, therefore mitigating both maternal and infant mortality which commonly are negatively effected by lack of energy. Water purification will also be powered by the schools.
