Clean Water, Powered by the Sun
 

The quantity and quality of water available today in groundwater resources, lakes and rivers is decreasing, while it’s increasing pollution from pathogens, organic matter and salinity, due to the lack of properly managed sanitation and the dramatic effects of the climate change.

An increasing number of groundwater resources in Africa have levels of salinity and contaminants in the water that are so high that they are no longer usable for human, animal or agricultural use.

The Project aims to address a national problem, crucial for the prosperity of the Country and for its sustainable development, improving the economic growth of entire communities, and at the same time their security, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, women emancipation and education.

The Project will use Genius Watter’s “GeniusRO” technology, recently awarded "Solar Innovation of the Year" by the Africa Solar Industry Association, which makes it possible to find, desalinate, purify and distribute any type of water, making it drinkable, available and affordable every day, using only solar energy, without the need for any storage battery, with a system that lasts for decades and with little maintenance required.

The Project consists in the implementation of a network of water desalination and purification containerized plants, 100% powered by renewable sources, distributed over several (100+) villages and able to provide sufficient quantities of:

• Drinking water for the communities
• Clean water for domestic use (washing, cleaning, cooking)
• Clean water for irrigation
• Clean water for livestock farming
• Water suitable for fish-farming
