Kisumu Solar One is a 40 MW Solar PV project EOI # ME/CONF/4/1/4B
Located in Kajulu, Kisumu County (Kenya) in the KIBOS area on a 249 Acre land
The project is Developed by Ergon Solair Africa Limited.

The project site is 8.1 km from the new Kibos Substation. The Project is developed under a Special Purpose Vehicle named Kisumu Solar One Limited,

We have been endorsed by the Government of Kenya to also develop in Kisumu a Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Development, it is planned to be adjacent to the power plant.

The project for a Kisumu Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Development was endorsed by the Government of Kenya for development under the framework of the Cotonou Agreement. The Center will be designed by Arch. Stefania Soprani (Kenyan), developed and organised by EurAfrica Green Future in alliance with R&D, academic and institutional parties. It will focus on solutions for sustainability in African rural and urban context.

the County of
Kisumu has strongly
backed Kisumu Solar.

On August 2nd 2022, former President Kenyatta publicly announced “I am pleased to announce to you that the proposed Solar One Limited plant at Kibos has received all government approvals and the project implementation can now commence immediately”.
The Government re-iterated in August 2022 by former President Kenyatta, and later again in October 2022, when a new COD date was agreed and conformed by the Government for 2024

The financial structuring is planned as a blended finance, European Institutional and Debt funding from Impact lenders.

The Government of Kenya has endorsed the Kisumu Solar One project for submission for funding under the Cotonou Agreement. EurAfrica Green Future will partner with Ergon Solair Africa (the developer) to structure the blended finance.
